Seam that joins piece #6 to pieces #4 and #2

                                                       Threads used:
                                                         Perle #8
                                                      7mm silk ribbon
                                                     4mm silk ribbon
                                                       Stranded cotton


1. Using a Perle #8 and stem stitch create a gentle curved stem.

2. Please very  careful as you stitch the the petals for the fuchsia - do not go through any of the silk ribbon on the back of your work!
Begin by stitching 3 loop stitches in 7mm silk ribbon very close to each other.

3. Next add three ribbon stitches tucked under the loop stitches.

3. Add the stem to connect the flower to the main stem.
The little leaves are ribbon stitch in a 4mm silk ribbon.

4. The stamens are made up of straight stitches and colonial knots (or French knots) in a single strand of stranded cotton.

Stitch two loop stitches, one under the other, to create the bud.

Add as many flowers as you would like along the stem.


5. Connect the bud to the stem with a ribbon stitch in a 4mm silk ribbon.

Scatter more ribbon stitch leaves along the stem.

The smaller buds are made up of a straight stitch in 7mm silk ribbon and couched down with 4mm silk ribbon.

                                                               Buttons
                                                           Seed beads


1. Attach the buttons to the seam allowing extra space on either side of the button group - rather than evenly spacing the buttons along the seam.

                                                           Stranded cotton

    
1. Form the center of the flower by stitching down a cluster of seed beads or colonial knots.
Lazy daisy with a 4mm silk ribbon are then stitched around the center.

2. Place the half flower slightly off the seam.



3. The second half flower is placed further away and fern stitch in a Pele #8 is stitched as though it is coming out from under the flowers.

4. To complete the seam treatment attach seed beads or colonial knots to the end of the fern stitch. AND some straight stitches in a single strand of stranded cotton to the lazy daisy petals.
