A little bit of this and that.........................

I received this message from Doreen Parker -
"Hi, Jennifer, When I saw your woollen Apple core bag I just had to make one. I used curtain fabric samples and did the embroidery with Perle 8 and 12 and DNC cotton. I am really please with my bag. Thank you so much for such a lovely idea"

Here is Doreen's bag - no wonder she is please with it..........

I like her idea of the round handles. Her embroidery is so very pretty.
Thank you so much for sharing the photos, Doreen.

I had a few days between teaching and spent it in my sewing room..........

..................... stitching..................

My happy place..............

Back to some photos of my students work.
Christine has been coming to my classes for about 5 years now................

Her work is very beautiful ................

Very delicate

Buttonhole fans and silk ribbon flowers

I have a grandchild on the way - one completed this little blanket and between classes etc I need to get a few more little things knitted.

Narangba workshops

Elaine had some show and tell...............

Her work is so beautiful.

Jackie had her completed project to show us all.

All the stitches she learned in the workshops were applied to this very elegant bag.

Palestrina, cast-on stitch and dragonflies.

Ribbon stitch, buttons and beading. Jackie has used the stitches in such a creative way.

Using the fabric on the bag of the bag, she outlined the crane and added a few stitches - so effective.

Till next time.

MaryAnn and Wendy - best friends

MaryAnn and Wendy joined the class after attending my trunk show at the Patchwork Angel.

They are very different, as you will see from their work.
Wendy loves all things muted and antique looking.

Hearts with ruched ribbon garland around the edge.

Pearl spiders and cast-on buds.

Granddaughters' initials.

Gorgeous silk ribbon embroidery.

Angels and messages.

MaryAnn - likes a much stronger colour palette.

Busy prints

Silk ribbon embroidery

MaryAnn loved experimenting with different stitches.

She had a motto throughout the classes - "I don't unpick anything!"

Beautiful silk ribbon roses

Cast-on buds.

Needless to say, they were very entertaining in the classes.

Inspirations Magazine and a quilt show

Honestly, being featured in the very beautiful "Inspirations Magazine" again, is a career highlight for me. I feel so privileged.
Here is a link to the magazines website:

The standard of all work in the magazine is awe inspiring, so I really feel the pressure when designing and stitching for the magazine. A big thank to Ellaine Bronsert for invitation.

The attention to detail of their embroidery instructions is quite something.

I was once again invited by the lovely ladies of the Maleny Quota show to have an exhibition of my work. This is the third time I have exhibited there, so I asked if I could display all the things I love to do. They said YES. So, I packed up a few bits and bobs............

Crazy quilting ( the top left crazy is not mine; its the work done by Linda in my Maleny workshops)

For the last 32 years I have spent all my free time: watching tv, travelling in cars, at sporting events etc etc doing EEP. It is my yoga and I LOVE it!!!

Did I say I love doing English paper piecing?? another love of mine is hand quilting.

Over the years I have collected vintage quilts and blocks - but I enjoy buying ones that are not completed. Working with vintage and repurposed fabric has always been a joy for me.

I had quite a lot of WIP's on display because I do hop from one project to another all the time.

My embroidery.

Fabric twine - my second yoga!

Boro - oh, how I enjoy doing this too - its a great background for embroidery.

Repurposing !!! Love!!

I got to chat to so many people about my passion - it was a very fun weekend.
Thanks Linda, and the Maleny Quota ladies.
 Until next time.

My BFF's crazy quilt

I must admit I love working with the Cottage Garden range of threads - the colours are great.

One of my best friends made this wall hanging last year - a wedding gift for her daughter. Sue has been coming to my classes for many years.

Sue was pressed for time, so we decided to use seam treatments straight from both of my books: "Foolproof crazy quilting" and Foolproof crazy-quilt projects".

We decided what went where............

And Sue was off...................

Once again, her work looks very different to mine..............

Her colour palette is great..................

I was so pleased to see it come together so quickly.

So was Sue, everything went according to plan.

We added a few different bits and bobs.............

Needless, to say the happy couple loved it too.
Thanks for sharing your gorgeous work, Sue.
