This is Karyn's first pincushion she made for her daughter-in-law.

An embroidered bear and a scrap quilt

I thoroughly enjoyed making this little bear.................

I used bits of thrifted men's suiting............

I did the wool embroidery last year...................

And put him together recently...

He was made for no reason......................

I enjoyed the process.............

I LOVE scrap quilts.......................

The top was made a few years ago from some of my very old scraps....................

I started hand quilting it before Christmas - its all finished now.  Don't you just love a finish??

Marie's crazy hexagons - what can I say

As I have said (so many times) I get to meet so many lovely, creative women in my classes.
Marie is most definitely one of them. Marie has been coming to my classes for many, many years.
Her work is abundant and her seam treatments quite luscious!!!!!

Enjoy browsing through the photos ................

There are so many interesting things to see

When Marie first came to my classes, she said that she did not like ribbon work.................
well, I changed her mind on that!

Marie covered the seams on the back of her work with a gold trim.

Her door stop she made in memory of her cat Bendi.

Marie has a LOT of stuff - but shares it all so generously. She is such an added pleasure to my classes.
Thanks Marie

Rain at last

It has been so unceasingly hot over the last month or two - got to LOVE Leunig!

Only way to cool down - wine and swim in the late afternoon.

Rain at last

I have a slight "thing" about footstools at the moment...........all purchased from opshops - I quite like a bit of "ugly" - this little one I covered with a coffee bag decorated with scraps of wool suiting.............

Lots of fun - I have a funny feeling that I did not improve its looks - but, I am partial to "unfortunate" things...............

Fabrics strips (from the lovely Fiona) and some rope and some free time this week (which is a rarity)

These are so fun to make...

Perfect....................
 Till next time

A finish!

Di worked on this quilt last year at my Maleny Magic workshops. There is so much about this quilt that I enjoy.

Firstly, the fabrics are one of my favourites to embroider on - Japanese yard dyed!

We worked on dimensional embroidery

Cast on roses............

So many interesting combinations................

Interesting colour combinations.................

Its so unique - Di's interpretation of stitches

I strive to encourage my students to enjoy the process..............

Its clear to me from Di's work that she enjoyed working on this project.

Fascinating!

Feather stitch and stab stitch...................... simple, yet, so effective..................

So looking forward to seeing what Di will be working on this year.
