Seam that joins piece #6 to pieces #8, #1 and #4


Threads used:
Perle #8
 7mm silk ribbon
4mm silk ribbon
Nymo beading thread 
Small flower sequins 
Seed beads
Small pearl beads

Stitches used:
Stem stitch
Ribbon stitch
Straight stitch
Beaded sequin
Single bead stitch
Colonial knot



1. Stitch a curved shape in stem stitch in Perle #8 along the seam. Repeat in pieces #3 and #1, extending into piece #4.

2. We will complete one stem in it's entirety before completing the other two stems; in this way we can see how much space (visually) it takes up before repeating on the other two stems.

3. Next form soft ribbon stitches in 7mm silk ribbon to the end of some straight stitches.

4. Attach flower sequins to a few more straight stitches.

5. Little ribbon stitch leaves in 4mm silk ribbon are scattered along the stem - sometimes singularly, others in pairs.

6. Now finish off with little pearl beads and a few colonial knots. Once you have completed this, go on and repeat on the other two stems.

1. With a Perle #8 threaded through the smallest Milliner's/ straw needle stitch chevron stitch with beads along the seam.

2. Form three loop stitch flowers (4mm silk ribbon) amongst the chevron stitch.

3. Add colonial knots in a Perle #8 to the chevron stitch

4. Add another row of loop stitches to the central flower.
Then create a few twigs by forming a fern stitch and then adding extra straight stitches to it.
